WHO MISSED MEE??
I missed me too. How are you doing? Oh! and happy new year! I hope 2019 has been good to you as it has been to me. Where all my fellow strikers at?? No offense to those who want the strike to be called off but I’m enjoying this strike. Yea. Cos I’ve got more time to focus on my fashion design work. Anyways, today’s my birthddaaaaayyyy! Happy birthday to me! You want to wish me a happy birthday? Ill see them in the comments section. Thank you. So, as a gift from me to you my dear reader, through the help of some special people, I’ve put together some … do I call them new year resolutions? for you, to help you become a better person. Because nothing gives me a greater joy than the knowledge that I’ve made positive impact in someone’s life. You want to receive my birthday gift? Leggo…
- STOP HATING!
I wonder if something called a ‘Sis code’ exists. Girls, we need to stop hating on each other. Why would you be bitter because your fellow sister is successful??? Personally, I think that’s devilish. Even the holy book says love your neighbour as you love yourself. You should be happy if another girl is doing well, not gossip about her and in some cases, spread false information about her. That’s an unhealthy bitchy attitude girl. And even some of these girls whom you’re envious about, do youu know if they are doing well via legit means? Biko, be contented with what you have and work harder (VIA LEGIT MEANS, I repeat, VIA LEGIT MEANS) on becoming the successful woman you want to be.
- BEING MATERIALISTIC.
Synonyms: money-oriented, excessively concerned with material possession, acquisitive, greedy, etc.
Girls, it breaks my heart to hear about girls being used for money rituals everyday. Most of these ladies who fall victim of these unfortunate happenings brought it upon themselves. What harm would it do to you if you decide to be independent? Must you have a boyfriend/ sugar daddy/sponsor or whatever you call it before your needs are met? Wait. You think because you’ve not got a good educational background or because you’re still a student you can’t make a living the right way??? Puleeeeze! When people say you use what you to get what you want, it means your brain! Use it to come up with great ideas. Think girl! THINK! What are you good at? What skills have you got? What skills can you acquire? Stop thinking about how to snatch Tola’s rich boyfriend and figure out a way to be successful and useful to the society. There are lots of organisations who offer training programmes for women especially. Instead of disturbing your ‘boyfriend’ for hair maintenance and all, ask him for a capital to start a business if you’re the business kind of person. If we’ve got ourselves busy we won’t have time to gossip about who does not need to be gossiped about or waste time on social media ranting about how men are scum (because the ones you know aren’t useful to you). Work towards being a better person this year girl.
- DRAMA QUEENS
LOL. I’m guilty of this too sha. I tots agree that we girls are the ultimate drama queens, but then what fun is life without a little drama?? Anyways, dear ladies, lets reduce our drama this year so that our male friends can have a little peace. P.S. to all my male friends who might have suffered from my drama last year, (and those who have had a taste of it this year), bear with me, I’ll try to be better this year.
- BODY SHAMING???
SIGHS…… I still am shocked about this? Here in Africa??? Body shaming?? Like… we Africans love our thick ladies. Why would anyone in his or her right mind call you fat???? I personally think such people have mental problems (maybe psychological sef). Ssweetheart, if you’re reading this and you’re thick, biko, LOVE YOURSELF! I, personally, am a big fan of thick ladies (I even wanto join your association gan). Go for work out to be fit, eat good food, be hygenic and once again, LOVE YOURSELF. You can watch this movie ‘I FEEL PRETTY’. Thank me later. As for those of you who body shame people, … well, Christ told me to forgive those who trespass against me, so that’s what I would do. Go and sin no more.
Synonyms: idle talk, hearsay, whispering campaign, on dit(French), titbits, dirt.
All I’ve got to say about this is, get yo’ idle ass busy with something creative girl. if na book you wan read, read and pass. If na work you wan learn, learn am well. Less gossip, more self development.
- OPERATION SHOOT YOUR SHOT!
SO JORO BABY TAKE MY NUMBER oh oh oh…. Yes, if you like him tell him. Duuuuh, you don’t have to be direct with it, smile more, don’t wait for him to text you first, get him a gift on his birthday! Who knows, he might be your missing rib but the shy type. Be wise sis, sometimes the husband you went to Shiloh to search for is right beside you.
- IF YOU’RE IN AN UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIP, WALK OUT SISTUUUUURRR!
Enough said. Don’t kii yourself.
- LOVE YOUR SKIN COLOR!!!
You’re beautiful, not because I’m saying so, but because its true. Don’t let anyone make you think or believe otherwise. Love your skin colour. Don’t damage your beautiful skin because you want to please someone, or because you don’t like it when people call you blackie. My dear, take good care of your skin. Here are links to blogs where you can learn how to make your beautiful skin glow. Thank me later. http://www.thefashionspot.com/beauty/665555-black-girl-skin-care/
- GIRLS DO DRUGS?????
You’re also shocked, right?? Like…. seriously??? I was speechless when about three different people told me this. Please, please, please, if you do drugs or you know anyone who’s engaged in it (especially ladies), please stop eet! Its in no way good for your health. Just in case you need to know more about its effect on girls, click on this link. https://www.webmd.com/mental-health-news/20030207/girls-more-prone-to-alcohol-drug-abuse
- YOU FAILED? TRY AGAIN.
You should never, ever consider giving up an option. If you’re not sure about what to do in any situation, seek advice from the RIGHT person. If you’re a religious person, pray. You aren’t the first person to fail, you won’t be the last. But don’t let that failure stop you, let it be part of your success story.
- BE INDEPENDENT!
In relation to the previous point about being materialistic, I want to emphasize on this again. Go get your hands busy. Stop looking for maga to pay your bills. May the big guy up there bless the ‘GOOD’ works of our hands.
- FIGHTING OVER BOYS.
Did you hear about the steady steady drama between two female students in OOU last year? Check one of my previous posts if you didn’t. these happenings might be funny when we hear about them but its disgraceful. Who wants to trend on social media for fighting for a guy??? Like…. I don’t just get it. And the painful thing is the guy wont even be fine. Even if he’s fine gan, or rich, and so??? Biko y’all who have the mentality of ‘fighting for their man’, please drop it. As far as he’s not your husband, you don’t own him. If he wants, you let him fight for you. Let’s be guided this year.
- FEMINISM IS ABOUT EQUALITY, NOT SUPERIORITY.
Biko, who even started this feminism thing? Because most ladies on social media don’t even know what it stands for, or its goals. You’ll wake up on morning and see tweets like “I can’t kneel before my husband”, “why do we say amen and not awomen”, “why do we refer to God as he instead of she”, “why can’t we say she or he, why must he come before she”, “”, etc. The list goes on. What I know a feminist to be is one who believes that women should be given EQUAL opportunity as their male counterpart, not someone who tweets about silly things like awomen instead of amen. Like…. amen isn’t gotten from English language na. haba! Please, if you want to join the trending people, trend with sense. If you can’t, delete your social media account and stop polluting our little girls with absurd ideas. Moreover, we African women are taught to respect our husbands because they are the head of the family. I believe that if you respect a good man, he would also respect you. So, if you feel otherwise, fine. Just don’t pollute our young ones with the idea that they are above men . keep your ideas to yourself. thank you. No one is above anyone. WE ARE EQUAL. THE SAME. A boy child can learn how to cook just as a girl child. So also, can a girl child become an engineer just as the boy child is. Be guided.
Last but not the least,
- DRINK WATER AND MIND YOUR BUSINESS.
Do you love my birthday gift? Of course you do. Feel free to share with anyone you think needs to be blessed with it. Don’t be stingy, spread love.
